A regular event conducted every Monday presented Dra. Jacobus Gräper, M.A. of the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. The program was atended by all members of Ma Chung University including students, staff, and lecturers. The topic of the program was “Travel and Cultures” and held in Balai Pertiwi Multi-function Hall. Koos, the nickname of Drs. Jacobus Gräper, presented his experiences during his teaching time at The University of Groningen where he travelled to places like Eastern Europe, The United States, and even Indonesia. Koos also mentioned his impression on how Indonesian motorists ride their bike on the road that, according to him, is very unsafe. But he really appreciates his other experiences while his stay in Malang especially at Ma Chung University. The Spirit of Excellent program was very interesting that students and the other members of  Ma Chung University asked many questions. Some cultural differences between The Netherlands and Indonesia were also presented in front of the audience. One interesting matter is Indonesian are still considered “late comers” compared with the Dutch that is always on time, but, as Koos said, this does not happen in Ma Chung University. And this makes us proud to be a university that tries to be on time in all activities held in it.
