Ma Chung Research Center for Photosynthetic Pigments (MRCPP) was founded in 2007 as the core research center in Indonesia that dedicates its research to understand the structure-functions and the properties of these pigments and uses this knowledge for applied research such as food, health and the finding of alternative energy.

In July 2011, MRCPP is proud to be selected as a research affiliate member of the Photosynthetic Antenna Research Center (PARC), an energy frontier research center funded by U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Basic Energy Sciences.
